Holidaymakers face further anxiety over their flight plans with British Airways as the airline's cabin crew pressed ahead with plans for strike action.
A three-day walk out is due to start from 20 March, followed by a four-day walk out from 27 March.
The industrial action by members of the Unite union will adversely effect around 30 per cent of flights from London Gatwick, as well as services from London Heathrow.
BA says it will charter 23 planes and draft in 1,000 trained volunteer cabin crew staff if the strike goes ahead.
The union is due to ballot members on a new offer from BA aimed at preventing industrial action.
